Jordan’s U-19 youth team have set off a training camp in Istanbul which lasts until August 17. The camp will include three matches and two training sessions a day aimed at finalising the line-up ahead of the U-19 Asian Youth Championship from November 4-17 in the UAE. Head coach Jamal Abu Abed said the line-up was boosted with the joining of Khaled Abed, who plays with youth team of Ajax Amsterdam and is known for his agility, speed and striking skills which the line-up seems to miss in recent matches. Coach Yasin Rahhal was quoted by the local press as saying: “The camp will give ample time for focus on mistakes and gaps which were evident in the latest matches.” Meanwhile, the U-19 girls team is also set for a similar training camp in Istanbul from August 10-18, with friendlies aimed at boosting readiness for the Asian qualifying preliminaries starting October 17 in Amman.
