The national championship of the World Robot Olympiad was concluded on Saturday at the Rida Saeed Hall in Damascus University.
The first place award for the top-tier group went to the Challenger 9/6/3 team from the Higher Institute of Applied Science and Technology, while the first place award for the mid-tier group went to United Power Team from the Syrian Computer Society.
The two teams qualified for the 2014 World Robot Olympiad which will be held in Sochi, Russia, in November 21-23.
The championship is sponsored by Syrian Computer Society and Syriatel. 30 teams participated in it, including teams from Damascus University, Yarmouk Private University, the National Center for Gifted Students, and the al-Wataniya School, among others.
