President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will receive on Wednesday the Egyptian champions who won medals in the Olympic, Paralympic and Army Games to honor them, Presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef said.
The 31st Olympiad took place on August 5-21 with the participation of 11,303 athletes from 206 nations and a refugee team.
Egypt won three bronze medals in the Olympics. Sara Ahmed Samir, weightlifting (-69kg), Mohamed Ihab, weightlifting (-77kg), and Hedaya Malak, Taekwondo (-57kg).
Egypt also performed well in the 2016 Rio de Janiro Paralympics games that took place between 7 and 18 September, collecting a total of 12 medals – including three golds.
Egypt finished 30th in the medal table among all participating countries. China led the table with 239 medals including 107 golds, before Great Britain with 147 medals (67 gold), and Ukraine, 117 (41 gold).
