Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa confirmed the general programme for the "Challenge Bahrain" international triathlon championship, which will be held on Saturday, December 6, and organised by Challenge Family along with Nasser bin Hamad Foundation.
The general programme of the event includes many of the basic activities, as follows:
On Wednesday, December 3, the Media Centre at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) will host all media accreditation at 10:30am. The reception for media and professional athletes will then be held at 5:00pm.
On Thursday, December 4, all athletes will have the opportunity to train at Bahrain Bay from 7:00am, followed by the opening of a triathlon gallery at the triathlon garden in BIC at 9:00am. It will remain open until 6:00pm.
On same day, there will be an introductory session for athletes at Crowne Plaza Hotel and the opening of the Sports Forum at 9:30am, followed by a Press conference at same venue.
The registration for the tournament will held between 10:00am and 6:00pm in the triathlon garden at BIC.
At 5:30pm a charity run/walk challenge for women will be held at 5:30pm for a distance of five kilometres. BIC will then host the Carbo Party/Mandatory Race Brief (English and Arabic) from 6:30pm up to 8:30pm.
On Friday, December 5, all the participants will have an opportunity to train in the swimming site between 7:00am and 9:00am at Bahrain Bay. A triathlon gallery will be held in the triathlon garden at BIC at 9:00am until 6:00pm. The registration for athletes will be held at the triathlon garden at BIC from 9:00am until 3:00pm, and a cycling trial will start from 10:00am until 5:00pm.
On Saturday, December 6, "Challenge Bahrain" will kick off at 7:30am with the swimming leg at Bahrain Bay (7:30am for Men-Professional, 7:35am for Women-Professional, 7:45am for Women, 8:05am for ages 50 years old and above, 8:10am for ages between 18 to 29, 8:15am for ages between 30 to 39, 8:20am for ages between 40 to 49, and from 8:25am the relay teams.
An exhibition will be open from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and the prize presentation for the winners to be held at BIC after all the action.
