Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) First Deputy President and Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Chairman His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa honoured Bahraini athletes Alemu Bekele and Bilisuma Shugi Jamal with the gold and silvers after clinching the top two positions in the men\'s 10,000m final in the 20th Asian Athletics Championships last night in Pune, India. HH Shaikh Khalid, who is also West Asia Athletics Federation (WAAF) Chief, hailed Bahraini athletes for their excellent performances for the second consecutive day. He congratulated the winners Alemu Bekele and Bilisuma Shugi Jamal, in addition to sprinter Ali Khamis, who clinched a silver medal. He hailed the positive and promising results achieved so far, saying that they augur well for Bahrain\'s final standing on the table of medals. HH Shaikh Khalid met heads of Asian athletics federations and the organisers of the 20th Asian Athletics Championships.
