President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has extended sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his incessant support for Breef’s programmes and activities. « The landmark achievements attained by Bahraini riders at all international gatherings reflect HM King Hamad’s keen desire to upgrade the sport movement in the kingdom and resolve to provide suitable conditions for advancing it, » he said. Shaikh Khalid also asserted that the hounourable results achieved by the Bahraini riders reflect the advanced level reached by the endurance sport in the kingdom thanks to HM King Hamad’s directives, which, he, said has consolidated the kingdom’s position in the world sport arena. This came as Shaikh Khalid chaired here today a BREEF Board meeting. During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts made by the Board members for the sake of upgrading the endurance sport in the kingdom. He also welcomed the appointment of Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa as Vice-President of Breef, praising the contributions of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa who joined the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He also entrusted Shaikh Duaij binSalman Al Khalifa and Ghalib Al Alawi with new duties. Shaikh Khalid also requested the board members to study holding a number of new competitions in the Northern Governorate in which the effects of glanders have begun to fade away. He also welcomed the initiative of the Supreme Council for Youth Sport Chairman and BOC President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for requesting nternational Military Sports Council (IMSC) ( conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM)) to include endurance in its programmes. Shaikh Khalid also lauded the efforts made by the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning MinisterDr. Joma’a Al Ka’abi to eradicate the glanders disease. Other issues were also discussed during the meeting.
