HE Qatar Olympic Committee's Secretary General Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani appreciated the effort of the GCC Secretariat in providing all elements of success for these meetings, stressing that the majority of the decisions which have been taken are productive and will be referred to their Highness and Excellencies Heads of GCC Olympic Committees.
The QOC Secretary General was speaking at a press conference on Tuesday at the Sheraton Doha hotel on the sidelines of the ongoing 29th meeting of the GCC heads of national Olympic committees.
Regarding the coordination between the GCC countries in the regional and international sport gatherings, the Secretary General outlined that there are 27 organizing committees in different games and 12 Presidents of continental federations from GCC countries should have a joint effort and cooperation during these tournaments.
QOC Secretary General also appreciated the GCC General Secretariat's positive response to adopt Qatar's proposal to have Saturday of the second week in February of every year as a GCC sports day and UAE's proposal to have daily physical education classes for GCC students of all ages.
Deputy President of Qatar Olympic Committee HE Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al-Thani also lauded all the decisions and recommendations that have been taken during the meeting.
