Qatar’s Mohammed Khan made commendable effort in the opening of the 16th Arab Men’s Wrestling Championship to win silver medal in the 84kg in Doha on Saturday. Khan made impressive effort to clinch the silver after a defeat at the hands of African champion and last edition title holder, Algerian Mohammed Lofi. In the 55 kg, Iraq’s Karar Abbass clinched the gold medal , following his victory over Ibraheem of Jordan in the final match, as the bronze medal went to Fahad Ghazwani of KSA. In the 66 kg, Iraq’s Ali Nazem claimed the gold medal following his deserving victory over Mohammed Al Masrafi (Jordan). The four-day tournament brings together 9 Arab teams, including hosts Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Algeria, Morocco and KSA. Source: Qatar Olympic Committee
