Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) have signed a cooperation protocol to benefit from the Qatar Olympic Academy in the areas of academic and technical training for Asian coaches, referees, specialists and technicians.
The Protocol allows organising a series of closed training camps closed for young athletes from across Asia for them to gain knowledge and exchange experiences in addition to having the opportunity to experience the academic sports environment of QOC.
HE the Secretary General of QOC Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, and the Secretary General of OCA Randhir Singh signed the protocol in the presence of OCA President Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahd Al-Sabah, heads of Olympic committees and representatives of 45 countries.
HE Sheikh Saoud headed the Qatari delegation to the OCA 33rd General Assembly meeting, which was held here in the presence of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach.
HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, extended thanks to the president of OCA on confidence and selecting Qatar Olympic Academy as an Asian center for the preparation of leaders, coaches, referees, technicians and specialists in the field of sports, in addition to organizing camps for talented young athletes.
OCA president Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahd Al-Sabah said that the adoption of the Qatari Olympic Academy as a training center is an asset to the Asian continent and the guarantee of a fruitful, long partnership.
