HE Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al -Thani has appreciated efforts being exerted to support joint Gulf youth sports based on directives of Their Highnesses and Excellencies towards youth, the true wealth of our homelands.
Sheikh Saoud made the remarks in a press conference following the conclusion of the 83rd meeting of the Executive Committee of the GCC National Olympic Committees Presidents.
He praised sincere efforts being made at the past and the current stage to improve the performance of the sports work to meet aspirations of the Gulf citizens , who have one goal and one destiny pursuant to the vision of the wise leadership of their Highnesses the GCC leaders to the importance of the role of youth and sports.
He also hailed the GCC Olympic committees' efforts to translate ideas into achievements and innovative initiatives designed to improve performance of the Gulf sports at regional, continental and international arenas.
HE Sheikh Saoud described the meeting as very productive during which participants agreed to adopt the Anti-Doping Lab Qatar to be responsible for checking samples during the second GCC Beach Games in Doha which will be held next April 2015 and other tournaments, the final approval upon it by next May to be a laboratory responsible for all Gulf tournaments and Qatar's lab will be a qualitative addition to the Gulf sports championships and will educate young people and paying great attention to their health.
