Matrouh Security Director el Anany Hamouda inspected measures to secure the Pharaons International Cross Country Rally, which will kick off Tuesday.
The rally will kick off from south of El Alamein in west of Egypt.
The security director inspected the rally's route and security services provided.
He said precautionary measures are needed to foil any bids targeting the security of the country.
The Pharaons Cross Country Rally is a car, bike and truck race. During the grueling race, competitors have to maneuver over some incredibly varied and difficult terrain which includes negotiating undulating rocky terrain, going up and down steep sand dunes and across vast baron areas of stunning desert.
