The Kuwait Speed Racing watersports team has added a new achievement to the country after winning six different trophies in the second round of the UAE Jet Ski Championship, held in Dubai.
Racer Rashed Al-Dawas was ranked first in the junior stock game, while his compatriot Abdulaziz Al-Najdi came second in the same category.
"The fellow racers also dominated the game of the professionals stock after Abdullah Al-Fadhel won the first place, while Abdullah Al-Terkit and Hamad Al-Dalaly came second and third respectively," Al-Dawas told KUNA.
He hailed the impressive performance of the team members and their eagerness to raise Kuwait's flag at this international event.
He commended the efforts exerted by all UAE's officials, particularly Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, head of the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club, to prove the event a success.
The Public Authority for Youth and Sport, headed by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour Al-Sabah, and the Kuwait Olympic Committee, chaired by Sheikh Dr. Talal Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, have played a significant role in helping racers make the achievement, Al-Dawas noted.
The Kuwaiti team won four trophies in different competitions in the first round of the championship.
UAE Jet Ski Championship kicked off with a high-speed competition involving over 70 participants in action on the water and runs until April. The championship includes six rounds that are held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Racers from countries, namely: Italy, USA, France, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE are taking part in the event.
