The national karate team will take part in the Karate 1 Premier League (Istanbul Open), for cadets, juniors and veterans, due to open this Saturday and last for eight days.
The team has been in a domestic training camp since July, and great efforts have been exerted to prepare the players physically and mentally for the world tournament, said member of the Kuwait Karate Federation Ibrahim Al-Husseini in a pre-event press release.
"On arrival in Turkey, the Kuwaiti team will join the training camp ahead of the official start of the tournament.
"This offers the players a chance to gain more experience from world champions," said Al-Husseini who will lead the mission to Turkey.
Istanbul Open will be the best preparation for the Asian Games to be held in South Korea in September, and the world tournament in Germany in November.
Al-Husseini lauded the efforts by head of the Kuwait Karate Federation Sheikh Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, and board of directors for their support to the national teams to get best results.
