Kuwait Bowling Youth team won the silver medal on Saturday in the double competition of the Fifth Arab Youth Bowling Championship in Doha, which included eight Arab teams.
Kuwaiti bowler Asseel Al-Roumi and Mustafa Al-Mosawi won the silver medal with 2,524 points behind Qatari gold medal winners through Bader Al-Thiyab and Jassem Al-Muraikhi with 1,813 points, while in the third place also Qatari bowlers Ghanim Abu Jassom and Ahmad Al-Thiyab with 2,462 points.
In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait Coach Mohammad Al-Saqer praised Kuwaiti bowlers' performance and winning the silver medal in this competition.
The coach called on the players to focus even more on the upcoming competitions and continue achieving more progress in this championship.
Nader Al-Mansour, Kuwait head of delegation, also told KUNA, that this championship represent a special event to them due to having four Western teams which in turn bolster competition and benefit the players more.
Al-Mansour also hailed Qatari organization of this championship, where he also remembered success in organizing the West Asia 2005 and Asian games of 2006 by Qatar.
This championship, will last for five days, with 32 players representing eight countries: Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, Yemen and host nation Qatar, in addition to Sweden, Finland, Norway and Colombia. (end) nnd.mb
