Kuwait Table Tennis Association announced Thursday that Kuwait mini cadets team was qualified to the final match of the 24th Arab Table Tennis Championship, currently held in Amman with participation of 14 countries.
The team was able to make it to the final match after defeating UAE team 3-1 in the semi-finals in a very thrilling showdown, Ali Al-Kanderi, Association's Secretary, told KUNA.
He pointed out that this significant win was due to the strong performance shown by Kuwaiti players Mohammad Dehrab, Othman Al-Sewailem, Abdullah Baroun, and Mohammad Al-Khalil.
The team will face its Egyptian counterpart, which defeated Iraq 3-1 in the semi-finals, Al-Kanderi said, expressing his hope for a good performance by the Kuwaiti players that would enable them to win the final match and snatch the first place.
The participating Arab teams are Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.
