The Group Director of the International and Racing Relations of the Jockey Club Racecourses (the Jockey Club), Stephen Wallis, has spoken about the Jockey Club's participation in the 16th race of this year's racing season organised by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, highlighting that it represents the strength of links between the Jockey Club and the Rashid Club.
Mr. Stephen expressed his pleasure in attending the race before highlighting the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in supporting equine activities in the UK and in the upcoming Newmarket flat racing event. This year's Newmarket race will include a cup dedicated to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Ian Lindsay, also attended the race which included a special cup dedicated to the Jockey Club. His Excellency emphasised the strong links between Bahrain and the UK in horse racing, and praised the welcoming atmosphere at the Club.
The 16th race featured 68 horses with teams competing over 6 different cups: Arabian, Imported and pure-bred Bahraini Horses as well as the Jockey Club cup. The series of races have taken place at the Rashid Club's racecourse in Riffa area.
