The General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) has been appreciated for implementing the vision of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to honour pioneering sports figures and media professionals who have dedicated their life in the service of Bahraini sports clubs, in particular, and the youth and sports movement, in general. The stance was voiced by a number of honourees who added that the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa’s attendance of the ceremony and honouring of such an elite of national sports cadres was a living proof of his appreciation of the landmark contributions of those pioneering figures to the youth and sports movement in the kingdom. They pointed out that GOYS President Hisham Mohammed Al-Jowdar’s keenness to organised the honouring ceremony and key statement during it were in line with his desire to pay tribute to those who supported Bahraini clubs, embraced Bahraini youths and highlighted and covered all sports activities and achievements. It is to be noted that a total of 85 pioneering volunteers in national sports clubs and media representatives were honoured during a special ceremony, held under the patronage of the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
