The Algerian football players, arrived Wednesday afternoon in Houari Boumediene Airport coming from Brazil where they participated in World Cup 2014, are parading in the capital’s streets aboard a bus.
After a break in the Airport’s honorary hall, the partners of Captain Madjid Bougherra start a parade through the streets of the capital where a popular welcome is planned in tribute to their good performance in the World Cup.
The Algerian players parade on a bus taking them throughout the ALN Avenue towards 1er mai square. The men of Vahid Halilhodzic will then head to the Independence Avenue for the Palace of the People. Later, their bus will cross Didouche Mourad street, to the Grande Poste place.
Finally, the players will go to the Sports Ministry Headquarters, based in Hassiba Ben Bouali Street.
The Algerian team which participated for the 4th time in the World Cup qualified for the first time in its history to the Round of 16, after ranking second in Group H with 4 points.
In the Round of 16, the Desert Foxes were eliminated by Germany after 1-2 loss in extra time in Porto Alegre, after a heroic match.
