The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) youth popular games festival kicked off here Monday with the participation of players from four GCC states.
The festival aims to revive and highlight Arab Gulf heritage, supervisor of Kuwaiti contestants Ahmad Al-Mejebal said in press statements.
He pointed out that the Kuwaiti players will partake in six games while other Gulf delegations will participate in three or four games.
Among the main objectives of the event are promotion of culture exchange and direct interaction among Gulf youth to strengthen people-to-people relations, he said.
He unveiled that the event's program includes holding rehearsals at the inauguration of Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village. The organizing committee will organize visits for the GCC delegations to national landmarks, namely Bait Othman and others.
