Five years ago, the first Ferrari branded theme park opened its doors to guests from all over the world to fuel them with the Ferrari spirit and excitement. Since then, it has become one of Abu Dhabi's iconic landmarks and key attractions to visit on Yas Island.
The luxury Italian brand created a family-friendly theme park that captures the essence of the legacy it stands for: passion, innovation and quality. From Fiorano GT Challenge, Speed of Magic and Galleria Ferrari to Bell'Italia, the winning mix of Ferrari inspired rides and attractions have thrilled millions of guests since the Park opened in 2010.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi's fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa has given the Park great recognition in the industry and attracted thrill seekers from around the globe. The Guinness World Record breaking ride has propelled guests in the air more than 210,000 times at a speed of 240 km/h. The Park's most popular acrobatic show, RED has also entertained millions of guests as it ran over 1,700 times whilst it paid tribute to Enzo Ferrari's love for speed, racing, style and everything Italian.
Commenting on the five year anniversary, Jesse Vargas, General Manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi said: "We have come a long way from where we started and made everlasting memories with guests who have become part of our family."
Last year, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi witnessed record breaking attendance as it hit the one million mark ahead of target. Attendance this year has also been tremendous since the expansion announcement was made. New rides and attractions have been added to appeal to guests of all ages. These include Karting Academy, Viva Ferrari show, Ferrari Driving Experience and Junior Training Camp to name a few.
The Park will see further growth as it is set to launch its second record breaking roller coaster, Flying Aces in early 2016. The bi-plane themed coaster is acclaimed for having the tallest loop (52 meters) and steepest starting hill inclination at 51 degrees, and is set to take guests to speeds up to 120kmph along a 1.5km track.
Vargas added, "Our expansion has been progressing very fast, and two of the scheduled seven rides and attractions are complete. We have five more to surprise our guests with, one of which has been already announced and you can see it as you drive by! We are saving the best for last and our fans have a lot to look forward to!"
