Public Prosecutor Hesham Barakat has ordered an investigation to be opened into clashes erupted between police and Zamalek hardcore fans known as "Ultras White Knights," leaving scores dead and injured.
The public prosecutor assigned Forensic medicine to examine the bodies and know the reasons of death.
The Interior Ministry said that scores of thousands of fans stampeded to break into the gates of Air Defense Stadium.
Police used tear gas to disperse members of the Ultras White Knights in front of the stadium before Zamalek played ENPPI in a top-of-the-table clash.
The death toll has reached 22 while scores others were injured.
