The Dubai Polo Gold Cup, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, concludes tomorrow at the Dubai Polo \'&\' Equestrian Club with a final between the Habtoor Polo Team and Ghantoot team. Before that, the Bin Drai Polo Team and the Abu Dhabi Polo team will vie for the third place in a semi-final at the same venue. The premier polo competition which commenced on 25th February culminates on Friday and plays host to some of the best polo teams from around the world, including top players from the UAE, Argentina and England. The six teams including the 2012 winning Habtoor Polo Team will battle it out to win the prestigious Gold Cup trophy this Friday at the Dubai Polo \'&\' Equestrian Club. Mohammed Al Habtoor, head of the organising committee of the Cup, thanked Sheikh Maktoum for patronising the championship. The Dubai Polo Gold Cup was founded in 2009 by an independent committee of polo players, esteemed members of the UAE business and people with a passion for polo and sport in order to further advance the development of polo in the United Arab Emirates and wider region. Under the banner of the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA), the Gold Cup is being played according to HPA rules and the provision of umpires will be managed under strict international supervision by the HPA. from: WAM
