The Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge received an overwhelming response with 269 registered cyclists taking part in this year’s first build-up ride in Dubai on Friday. This was the first of four time-trial rides ahead of the main challenge that takes place on Dec. 14. Cyclists from all ages and abilities gathered to test their fitness ahead of the 92km challenge in December. It was also the first official cycle event to take place at the new Nadd Al Sheba cycle park in Dubai, a purpose-built cycle park commissioned by Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum and built by his Engineers Office. A spokesperson for the office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said: “Today is the culmination of a lot of hard work and it is incredibly gratifying to see the cycle track being used. “It is a community venue and we anticipate it being widely used in events like the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge.” gulftoday .
