For the third straight time after 2010 and 2011, Doha will be the host of the IHF Super Globe. Conducted by Leon Kalin, Chairman of the IHF Commission for Organizing and Competition (COC) and Mohammad Jabir Al Mulla, Secretary General of the Qatar Handball Association, the draw for the Preliminary Rounds took place in the capital of Qatar on Saturday 23 June. Defending champion THW Kiel will face Mudhar (Saudi-Arabia, Asian representative), Al-Sadd (Qatar, host) and Sydney (Australia/Oceania representative) in the first stage. 2011 finalist and European representative Atletico Madrid will compete with Al-Zamalek (Egypt/Africa), Metodista Sao Bernardo (Brazil/Pan America) and Al Jeish (Qatar, wild card participant). The IHF Super Globe will take place in the Al-Gharaffa Arena in Doha from 27 August to 1 September .
