Kenya's athlete David Rudisha the Olympic 800-meter champion pulled out of Friday's Diamond League meeting in Doha with a calf injury. "I'm very disappointed . I know I've got a lot of fans there and I'm sorry I cannot compete for them," said Rudisha in his withdrawal statement. The world record-holder sustained the injury in training. His manager James Templeton, expressed sorrow and said that Rudisha had to pull out of the Doha Meeting, though he was training well and improving his fitness over the past months. The Qatar Association of Athletics Federation (QAAF) President Dahlan Al-Hamad said what matters for David Rudisha is to recover and come back stronger than before. Al-Hamad said that the Doha Meeting will bring together a big number of heavy caliber athletes. That is why I am sure the public and athletics fans will enjoy an astonishing sports evening, he added.
