His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister has said that events such as today’s Challenge Bahrain Triathlon clearly reflect His Majesty King Hamad's commitment to capability building programmes that serve to further enhance the skills of Bahrainis and boost the Kingdom's reputation in hosting sports competitions.
Commenting on the outcomes of the Triathlon, His Royal Highness highlighted the integral roles of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, and His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Vice-Chairman and Bahrain Athletics Association President, in attracting a considerable number of regional and international participants to the competition.
His Royal Highness added that the Kingdom is proud to see young Bahraini enthusiasts taking part in the event, noting that their participation shows full dedication to the continued development of skills and stamina. He then praised His Highness Shaikh Nasser for his role in increasing the popularity of this sport in the region, underscoring Bahrain's commitment to further developing regional youth capabilities.
His Royal Highness then spoke of the organization of the event, remarking that Bahrain has succeeded in establishing a strong reputation for hosting exceptional events in the region. He expressed the hope that the Challenge Bahrain Triathlon becomes one of the most important triathlon events in the Middle East, and said he looked forward to hosting the event again next year.
