Bin Drai took the lead in the KBL Dubai Polo Gold Cup with two consecutive wins after defeating Abu Dhabi 9-7. The foursome made up of Adriano Agosti, Nicolás Petracchi, Tomás Iriarte and Juan José Brane added to their second victory of the KBL Dubai Polo Gold Cup. Bin Drai took a quick lead after the opening and never let go. Juan José Brane had a great match, top-scoring for his team with five goals. Tomás Iriarte with two, and Petracchi and Agosti with one goal each, completed the nine goals for their team. Abu Dhabi fought till the end with Cappella scoring five goals, but Bin Drai never once gave up the lead. In the earlier match, Ghantoot also had a great afternoon at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club after beating Habtoor Polo 6-5. Ghantoot came back from a defeat against Abu Dhabi. Ghantoot, made up of Nasser Al Daheri, Oscar Colombres, Ramiro Cordero and Jorge Cernadas (replaced by Alfredo Cappella in the first chukker) combined well for a win over Habtoor. It was a four chukker battle with both teams trying to take control of the scoreboard. With a slight advantage by Habtoor in the first chukker and Ghantoot in the second, the second half of the match had an even score that took the game to overtime. Cappella scored the decider for a 6-5 victory. The Gold Cup will return tomorrow with Mahra facing Abu Dhabi at 3.00 pm followed by Ghantoot against Zedan at 4.30 pm.
