Ahly midfielder Ahmed Fathi has been ruled out of Monday’s friendly against Emirates’ side Dubai because of fatigue. “Fathi didn’t train last night with the group because he is not in shape” Ahly doctor Ehab Ahly was quoted as saying on the club’s official website. “He will train lightly, but he won’t be available for Monday’s friendly” he added. The Cairo giants will also do without Wael Goma, Sherif Abdel-Fadil Abdullah El-Said and Ahmed Shedeed Kenawy due to injuries they sustained while training in the Emirates camp. The Red Devils launched a closed camp in UAE within preparations for the game against Ethiopian Coffee in the 32nd round of the CAF African Champions League on 23 March. They only resumed recently, as they had a 40-day mourning period after the Port Said football stadium attacks on 1 February, which left over 70 dead - many of them Ahly fans. Since the incident, domestic football has been put on hold. Without the services of injured shoot stopper, Sherif Ekrami, Ahly lost 3-2 to Kuwaiti side Shabab in their first friendly in Emirates. They still have two friendlies in hand during the outside camp. Ekrami will be available for Monday’s game against Emirates’ team Dubai after recovering.
