Algerian women's basketball team beat Botswana 72-24 in Cairo on Sunday, Group A's third day of the FIBA Women's Africa U18 Championship (AfroBasket 2014, preliminary round) in Egypt (September 19-28).
The Algerians redeemed themselves in their fans' eyes after their defeat Saturday against Egypt (100-59).
On Friday Algeria defeated Tunisia (48-40).
Algeria is competing in Group A, which includes also Egypt, Tunisia and Botswana.
The other match on the third day is between Egypt and Tunisia.
Group B is made up of Mali, Angola, Ivory Coast and Mozambique.
The two finalists of the FIBA Women's Africa U18 Championship will represent Africa at the FIBA World U19 Championship, whose final stage is to take place in Russia in 2015.
