Zambia have re-hired French coach Herve Renard ahead of the 2012 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Renard replaces Italian Dario Bonetti, who was fired this month just 48 hours after securing a place for Chipolopolo at the biennial tournament. Bonetti paid the price for poor performances against Group C runners-up Libya, after Zambia took just one point from a possible six against the North Africans. Renard took Zambia to the 2010 Cup of Nations quarter-finals in Angola, where they lost to Nigeria after a penalty shoot-out. The Frenchman has coached Angola and clubs in Egypt and Algeria since quitting Zambia after the last African championship.
