Tigre missed the chance to go top of the Clausura as they slipped to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Argentinos Juniors. The hosts found themselves 2-0 down inside 23 minutes thanks to a double from Fabian Bordagaray. Tigre then had Cristian Lema sent off in the 77th minute and though they did pull one back two minutes later through Carlos Luna, it was not enough for them to challenge leaders Estudiantes. Banfield leapt of the foot of the table in some style with a 5-2 win at Olimpo, who replaced them at the bottom. The hosts took the lead through Andres Franzoia in the fifth minute, but Adrian Reta levelled eight minutes after the break before pulling ahead with a double from Andres Chavez. Roberto Brum made it 4-1 in the 74th minute and, though Martin Guedes pulled one back three minutes later, Jonathan Gomez rounded off the scoring eight minutes from time. Struggling Independiente secured a welcome victory as they beat Atletico Rafaela 2-0 with goals from Facundo Parra in the 57th minute and Fabian Monserrat ten minutes from time. In the day\'s other game, Union Santa Fe opened the scoring through Jorge Velazquez in the 36th minute, but Ruben Ramirez levelled three minutes before the break to secure a 1-1 draw for Godoy Cruz. Union held on for a point despite having Fausto Montero sent off in the 59th minute.
