Qatar national team coach Sebastiao Lazaroni was sacked from his position after a series of weak performances that ended with the team failure to progress beyond group stage in the Doha-based 12th Arab Games. Qatar Football Association announced in an online statement that the decision came after a board meeting chaired by QFA President HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Thani where the team recent results and performances were widely discussed. QFA terminated Lazaroni''s contract in a friendly way after a meeting with the Brazilian coach where QFA thanked him for his efforts. QFA confirmed that terminating the contract doesn''t underestimate him as great coach who helped in developing Qatar Sports Club. A new coach will be announced soon and will be well aware of Qatari football, QFA statement said.
