London - Arabstoday

Getafe withstood a late aerial bombardment from Osasuna to hold on and claim a point from a 0-0 game lacking in quality at the Reyno de Navarra. Raul Garcia and Nino wasted good opportunities for the hosts in the first half, while the closest Getafe came to breaking the deadlock before the break was a Cata Diaz flicked header that drifted just wide. In the second half, visiting keeper Miguel Angel Moya was twice called into action to keep the scores level as he first smothered Nino\'s effort from a narrow angle before palming away a fierce shot from Garcia with two minutes remaining. Osasuna knew they could move into fourth overnight with a victory, but they lacked urgency from the start as the opening quarter passed without any real incident. Home striker Roland Lamah had the first effort on goal just after the 20-minute mark but he pulled his left-footed drive from Nino\'s flick-on wide. Getafe manager Luis Garcia had warned his side of Osasuna\'s danger from dead-balls before the game, but it was his team that nearly took the lead from a free-kick when Pedro Rios\' clever ball in found Diaz and the Argentine defender\'s cute header crept just past Andres Fernandez\'s left-hand post. Soon though it was the hosts that were threatening from set-plays as Garcia failed to make proper contact with a free header from Patxi Punal\'s cross, before another quickly taken free-kick from the Osasuna captain found Nino one-on-one with Moya but the keeper raced out of his goal to block the striker\'s shot. Nino had just as good a chance to open the scoring six minutes after the break but again he was denied by Moya after Lamah\'s glorious reverse ball had put him through on goal before Rios fired into the side-netting on a rare foray forward by the visitors. Moya\'s best save was still to come though as with Osasuna piling crosses into the box in the final few minutes, Nino picked up a loose ball on the left and laid it back to Garcia whose shot was creeping in at the near post but for a fine stop by the Getafe keeper. The draw means Osasuna only move up to sixth but they do extend their unbeaten run to five games, whilst Getafe consolidate their position in mid-table.
