Morelia gained a 2-1 advantage over Santos Laguna in the first leg of their Apertura semi-final on Wednesday. Goals from Jaime Lozano and Edgar Lugo inside the first half-hour gave home side Morelia a handsome lead. Lozano scored after 13 minutes and Lugo doubled the lead after 25 minutes. But Santos Laguna halved their deficit in the 84th minute when Oribe Peralta netted, before the visitors were left to hang on at 2-1 down when Osmar Mares was dismissed three minutes later.
