Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has been given a vote of confidence by his board after last weekend\'s 5-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund left the club languishing in the bottom half of the table. Magath\'s re-appointment as Wolfsburg coach last March raised a few eyebrows just 48 hours after he had walked out on Schalke and his aim was to save the club he had led to the title in 2009 from the threat of relegation. Having achieved that objective only on the final day of the season, the expectations were a lot higher prior to the current campaign. However, last weekend\'s defeat was already Die Wolfe seventh defeat of the season. Only Freiburg have lost as many this term. Magath\'s aims of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League this season and mounting a challenge for the title again by 2014 therefore seem a little ambitious, but his club still have faith in him. \"It just seems like our revolution is going to take a little longer than first thought,\" said the club\'s chairman Francisco Garcia Sanz to the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper. \"Magath is the right man for us.\" And Magath could be given even more money to spend during the winter break if his side fails to pull away from the danger zone and start moving in the right direction. \"The worse the results, the higher the pressure is to do something,\" admitted Magath, who took just two years to deliver Wolfsburg\'s one and only league title two years ago. \"We could need two, four or five new players to improve the squad.\"
