Borussia Dortmund missed the opportunity to move to the top of the Bundesliga as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kaiserslautern at the Westfalenstadion. Despite having plenty of chances, Dortmund only managed to score once, with Shinji Kagawa on target in the 27th minute. That goal was not enough to win the game, though, as Olcay Sahan earned a much-needed point for Marco Kurz\'s Kaiserslautern in the 60th minute, lifting them out of the bottom three as a result. Like in midweek, when Dortmund raced into a two-goal lead against Marseille, they looked keen to score early on again. Robert Lewandowski came close to doing so in the 14th minute when his acrobatic shot grazed the top of the crossbar. Kagawa put them in front in the 27th minute, shooting into the bottom left-hand corner from the edge of the penalty area after being picked out by Kevin Grosskreutz. Dortmund waste chances Kagawa had the chance to make it two, four minutes later, but he missed the target with his effort this time. Antonio da Silva almost doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time, but Sahan saved his header on the goalline. Dortmund were punished for not building on their lead when Sahan brought the Red Devils level after an hour. He left Roman Weidenfeller no chance with a finely-struck volley with one of the visitors\' first chances of the game. Mario Gotze was brought on by Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp as the home side reasserted themselves on the game. Mats Hummels hit the post with a header before Lewandowski missed a gilt-edged chance to score and Gotze hit the crossbar with a shot from distance. Dortmund were frustrated as their search for a winner failed and they were left with only a point, which was enough to take them back up to second, but not to dislodge Bayern Munich from top spot. \"Kaiserslautern deserved their luck, they were a constant threat,\" said Klopp. \"We did well to get into a 1-0 lead and created a lot of chances, if Sahan hadn\'t scored the goal of the month, things would have gone well for us.\"
