Khartoum - Arabstoday

A second-string Egypt side crushed Chad 4-0 in a friendly in Sudan on Saturday as part of their preparations for the 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The Pharaohs had to do without Ahly and Zamalek players as the Cairo giants prepare for their respective African Champions League games next week. Arab Contractors forward Mohamed Salah opened the scoring after 30 minutes when he latched onto a fine threaded pass from Ahmed Temsah before slotting home with aplomb. Ismaily midfielder Ahmed Khairy doubled the lead with a far-post header one minute before the break. The seven-time African champions maintained their domination after the break, creating several goal-scoring opportunities which were denied by Chad’s defence. However, they were gifted a third goal after Chad’s Hassan Diallo scored a comical own goal when he looped a long ball over his own keeper and into the net. Substitute Ahmed Hassan Mekki completed the rout in stoppage time. Egypt lineup: Ahmed El-Shennawy, Ahmed Hegazy (Salah Ashour 46), Ahmed Saied Oka (Moatasem Salem 62) Mohamed Nasef (Ali Fathi 46), Basem Ali, Mohamed El-Nenni, Ahmed Khairy, Ashour El-Taqi, Ahmed Temsah, Mohamed Salah (Ahmed Hassn Mekki 70), Ahmed Abdel-Zaher (Ahmed Dwidar 46)
