London - Arabstoday

The Belgium international is concerned about the Goodison Park club\'s level of ambition and the uncertain future of manager David Moyes.Marouane Fellaini is considering his Everton future after the club crashed out of the FA Cup, Goal.com has learned. The versatile midfielder signed a new five-year contract last November but is understood to have growing doubts about whether Everton can step up to the next level without an injection of cash. The Belgium international has told friends that he wants to stay in the Premier League and is happy at Everton but is concerned both about whether his ambitions can be met at Goodison Park and the uncertain future of manager David Moyes. Real Madrid and Chelsea were among the clubs closely monitoring Fellaini before he signed his new Everton deal but the Spanish giants have cooled their interest in a player who is generally used by Moyes as a midfield anchorman but can also operate behind the centre-forward in an attacking midfield role.Chelsea are in the market for a central midfielder this summer and will re-state their interest if alerted to the availability of the 24-year-old. Arsenal could also move for Fellaini if they lose out to Real in their bid to sign top midfield target Yann M’Vila from Rennes. It is understood that Fellaini, who became Everton’s record signing when he moved from Standard Liege for an initial €17m (£13.9m at current exchange rates) in 2008, is attracted by the possibility of moving to a Champions League calibre club.Everton have well-documented financial problems and, with their search for a benefactor no closer to being ended, might have to cash in on their prize asset this summer.Fellaini has been a virtual ever-present for Everton this season, starting 35 of the team’s 42 matches in all competitions and performing with the consistent level of performance that has marked his four seasons in English football.Speaking after Everton’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Liverpool last weekend, he said: “I would love for us to get in some reinforcements. It would make us more competitive. I hope that the chairman will be able to loosen the purse strings during the summer.”
