French forward Jeremie Aliadiere has extended his contract with Lorient by three years, the Ligue 1 side announced today. Aliadiere, 28, joined Lorient on a free transfer in July, having spent the entirety of his career up to that point in England. He has played 11 matches for the Brittany club so far this season, scoring two goals in the league and two in the Coupe de la Ligue and had initially signed a one-year deal. After coming through the ranks at the elite Clairefontaine academy in France, Aliadiere joined Arsenal at a young age but was unable to impose himself at the club. In total he made 161 appearances and scored 23 goals during his time in England, spending the last four seasons at second-tier Middlesbrough.
