Al Markhiya Sports Club qualified today to play next season at Qatar Stars League, after drawing 0-0 with Qatar SC in the second round before last of Qatar Gas League.
It will be the second time in the club's history that they play in the first division. Next year's participation will be the first since a 13-year absence, with 2004 being the last time they featured. The team collected 46 points this term and sat top of the table, four points ahead of Qatar SC with only one game to play.
Qatar will play a playoff with the 11th-placed team of Qatar Stars League to determine will feature in the first division next season.
