Expo 2020 Abu Dhabi - Arab Today The UAE has a fast-growing young population that has high expectations of what it will be able to do in the work place, commented a UAE daily. "With more than 65 per cent of the total UAE population under 25, a larger number of young Emiratis will be looking for work every year. So it is encouraging that the Expo 2020 may create 300,000 direct new jobs, and one million indirect jobs," said Gulf News in its editorial on Monday. "Whether this total in a survey under the sponsorship of the Federal Authority of Human Resources gives a very optimistic picture or not, it still indicates a genuine trend", it continued. It is also important that these jobs should be permanent additions to the UAE work scene. The five sectors likely to benefit most are listed as hospitality, retail, banking, real estate and infrastructure. These are the core sectors of the long-term UAE economy, so the Expo-related growth is good news. "The survey also means that the educationists should take note and start to focus their courses and training to fit the urgent needs of the economy", concluded the Dubai-based English language newspaper.
