Benabdallah clarified the situation after answering a question on the matter in the Moroccan parliament. The politician claimed that he was \"misunderstood,\" adding that the ministry is yet to make a decision on property taxes. The leader of Progress and Socialism Party said that as things stand, no taxes are applied to abandoned properties, and this policy had not changed, adding that he was \"astonished\" by the rumours. Benabdallah claimed that dozens of properties in Morocco have been left unattended due to the current economic situation in the country.
