Delegates at Jordan’s WEF summit Ramallah – Nihad Al Taweel Israeli and Palestinian business delegates have come together to fight the economic impasse in the Occupied Territories, sources said, amid a growing clamour for a political solution from within the international community. More than 200 Israeli and Palestinian “independent, non-political” businessmen have demanded governments commit to “breaking the deadlock” by proposing an economic peace initiative ahead of slated peace talks. The proposal was announced on Monday during the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit held in Jordan this week. “The political solution is the only method for economic development and achieving stability,” an accompanying document stated.
