Kuwait Radio will celebrate on Sunday its 62nd anniversary under the slogan of "This is Kuwait." Since starting transmission on May 12, 1952, the radio has been a leading media outlet as reflects the brightest side of Kuwait, said Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for Radio Affairs Youssef Mustafa in statements to KUNA on Saturday. "The radio represents a line of commitment, dedication, modernity, poise, and creativity which earned it well-deserved awards," he said. "The radio has become a beacon of intellectual, literary, and cultural venue, and has enjoyed a prominent place in the Arab Broadcasting Union and organizations in the regional radio field," Mustafa affirmed. On this occasion, the Kuwaiti official spoke highly of the staffers of the radio for their achievements made throughout the last years under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Mustafa also affirmed keenness of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah to support "this national treasure - the oldest local media institution." "Kuwait radio has always sought to bring about a paradigm shift required to keep pace with technical and technological advancements which characterizes the modern era of media," he added.
