Kuwait has taken upon itself to enrich the Arab library through the publications of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), Saad al-Mutairi, director of NCCAL's exhibitions department, has said.
Al-Mutairi made this remark to KUNA on the sidelines of the Doha International Book Fair, in which NCCAL participated with a large collection of its publications.
Kuwait's pavilion displays publications of governmental bodies like NCCAL, Center for Research and Studies on Kuwait and several non-government bodies.
Among the NCCAL publications featured in Doha Book Fair includes its cultural and art periodicals and classic books, he said.
He noted that Kuwait's pavilion and its content had attracted a huge number of visitors.
The displayed publications tackle cultural, social, scientific and economic topics, he said.
The fair is a significant one on the map of Arab exhibitions thanks to the participations of many publishers, Al-Mutairi said, commending the well-organized event.
He went on to say that book fairs at present include other cultural activities, namely seminars, poetry, lectures and workshops that are highly attracted by audience.
The fair is held under the auspices of Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Than, with the participation of at least 432 publishing houses from 29 Arab and foreign countries.
It features a large collection of titles, e-books, children books and educational toys and software.
The fair is open for the public daily from 9am until 1pm and from 4pm until 10pm; on Friday from 4pm to10pm, and runs until January 17.
