The Tunisian artist, Lilia Hammami, said that she began in fabricating the Tunisian baskets eight years ago, and she loves her handicraft, and she became famous in Tunisia and has her own customers who need her goods.
Lilia said that she faces problems in the high and unacceptable increase in the prices of the materials she uses to make these baskets, what making her sometimes unable to meet the need of her customers.
She stressed, in interview with Arabs Today, her need for support to be able to continue her career in the craft, which reached out to the hearts of many Tunisians.
For the funds that went to the project, she said that the only association, which supports her, is Anda association, which supports her project with little money that does not meet the need.
She explained that if she had a larger capital, she will be able to sweep foreign markets, especially as she completes a number of the required beautiful pieces quickly.
Her products include traditional bags, bags for infants, bags for the bride and other traditional products.
