Masoudi’s first book, "The origin of big screen documentaries," Casablanca - Raja Battaoui Despite the difficulty of carrying out a research due to the lack of resources, documentary film maker Bouchaib Masoudi is no exception. After his success in collecting several information regarding documentary films, he managed to compare the importance of art to the history of cinema. As a result of this comparison, many books were published. In his first book, "The origin of big screen documentaries," he observed the history of documentary films, showing concepts related to films based on, “Les Frères Lumières.” After a long period of time, he observed several books and documentaries based on defining the art of film making. Cinema critic Habeeb Nasserie, dedicates in his introduction to Dr Bouchaib, his admiration for his works. " It’s a natural summary for all what he read and saw, and what he lived during his activities in the International Festival For Documentary films in the Moroccan city of Khouribga," says Nasserie. Masoudi’s book criticises the difference between documentary films and reporting. He states in his introduction, the difficulty of developing an accurate definition of what a documentary film is. He says, “it’s a way of expression... restoring the nation's past and improving their artistic and cultural future."
