Members of the book discussion Doha - Arab Today Qatar National Library (QNL) has organised a book discussion over the novel "Eighty Years Awaiting Death" , written by saudi writer dr. abdulmeguid al-fayyad. At the outset of the seminar , head of the reference services section at the QNL mrs.jowza al marri provided a briefing about the novel which combines between suspension and ambiguity and embodies mixed feelings and emotions . The message of QNL represented in spreading knowledge and refining skills of innovation and preserving the heritage of the nation for the future , she said noting that such seminar being held on a monthly basis further supports the library's vision and its due keenness to enrich culture and the reading environment in qatar. Qatar National Library is based on Qatars tradition of Dar Al Kutub, the first public library in the Gulf Region founded on 29 December 1962, will serve everybody from world-class researchers to the general public looking for high specialized scientific articles to the general public enjoying listening to music or watching videos. The National Librarys mission is to spread knowledge, nurture imagination, cultivate creativity and preserve the nations heritage for the future. The new building of Qatar National Library in Education City, designed by star architect Rem Koolhaas, will open in 2014. A landscape of knowledge will be displayed to the visitors, a childrens library, gaming section, heritage exhibition and a vast amount of books and journals in printed, and digital format. Music and film collections will be presented to the public and students and researchers will have unlimited possibilities to use the digital collection in the library. Source: QNA
