The British embassy in Cairo mourned Sunday Egypt and Zamalek's football legend Hamada Emam, who passed away on Saturday.
In a post on its Facebook page, the embassy described Emam as one of the prominent figures in the Egyptian sports and Zamalek Club.
It offered its condolences to the family and fans of the deceased.
Emam, aged 67, has passed away at an Armed Forces hospital after a battle with illness.
Born in November 28, 1948, Emam is the son of the Zamalek legend Yehia Emam and the father of Zamalek's current football director Hazem Emam.
Hamada Emam was also a former army officer, who had retired at the rank of colonel.
