The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al Othaimeen condemned the attack, carried by gunmen suspected of belonging to ISIS, which targeted a television station in Jalalabad, the largest city in the eastern Afghanistan' Nangarhar Province, and left at least six people killed and many others injured.
Al Othaimeen described the criminal act against civilians as an attempt by some extremists to undermine the role played by the media in nation-building and as a flagrant violation of international law.
The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation called for arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators of this criminal act, affirming the principled position of the OIC, which strongly rejects all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations, and categorically rejects all justifications for terrorism.
